AskWoody LoungerDecember 22, 2017 at 11:34 am in reply to: Random black screens after update to 1709 build 16299.98 #153787Well, I guess it’s about time I start to thinking about getting a new computer. There are no newer graphics drivers – the one installed is from 2015 – so I do not think the problem is because of the Windows 10 update that I installed. There are other things going on with the machine that actually point to memory and/or mother board malfunctions. Thanks again for the suggestion of checking the drivers – in delving into the inner workings I found a lot of indications that it is the hardware that is beginning to fail, not the software.

AskWoody LoungerIs there a way to have a link within a post open up in a new tab or window, as I usually lose where I was at in the forum and then have to drill back down – not critical – I’m just lazy 🙂

AskWoody LoungerNot gonna say this too loudly, but thanks for the link – update has been running for about 40 min so far – looking real good.

AskWoody LoungerBut then you have to cleanup all that extra fond.
And I’m not fond of cleanup.
Properly seasoned stainless steel cookware will not have fond that sticks! – At least that is what I have found, we no longer use any ‘non-stick’ cookware (which again if not seasoned properly food WILL stick).

AskWoody LoungerAs you will note I am not restricting myself to Word, or Office. XP programs are fine.
But, as far as I can see, there is no way of printing the filename along with the image. If there is, let me know.
When I use Windows Photo Gallery in Vista and use print contact sheet, the file name shows for me, granted the full path does not print, but the file name is there, right below the picture.

AskWoody LoungerEd, I am digging up this old post to ask you about Evolution. I got it working on Vista and I can send on my gmail account but I can’t get to receive gmail.
Could you share with me the settings you are using…..My response was to unkamunka in regards to TB polling multiple accounts, not Evolution – my TB 2.0.0.21 is currently polling 9 different accounts, 3 Gmail – 1 high volume (60+ per day), 1 from my ISP and 5 from my private domains. Sorry that my post was misleading.

AskWoody LoungerI answered a set of questions on Identifont and the closest match it could find was Ondine (URW)
Could also be Calligrapher Regular, but I cannot remember where I got the font.

AskWoody LoungerHans,
I agree the site is probably OK, but I don’t know how my organisation sets up our filters. Likely something in the past didn’t pass muster, so they are banned for evermore! I doubt any of my colleagues would have a business need to visit this one. I’ll visit it from home tonight!Maybe it is the source of the pictures – many companies just block anything with a *.de domain name.

AskWoody LoungerDecember 31, 2008 at 5:23 am in reply to: Firefox ‘Stops Interacting with Windows’ (Firefox 3.0.5) #1139931I suspect that it is NoScript add-on that is causing your problems – I received an update and my problems stopped – FF would just hang and looking at the resources, the CPU was running at about 95% – no problems since getting the latest version of NoScript.

AskWoody LoungerI’ve been running Comodo ever since I got my new laptop back in April (that came with Vista installed). Never had a problem with any anti-virus I tried – real easy to use.
