If you can run Windows, you might try the Belarc Advisor but without drivers working it may not give you the info you need.

You can try the Driver Guide Web site .

Hans, thanks for your quick response.

The problem appears to be in the merge document (Word).

I created a new, blank merge doc. Then I (1) eliminated the merge fields, (2) copied the entire contents of the existing doc into the new merge doc and (3) selected the same data source. When I inserted any field into the new merge doc, lo and behold, there was no shading … none.

What’s going on with Word here? Is this a “bug” or a “feature”? Grrrrr … sarcasm smash

As it turns out, I think that my problem was totally unrelated to Outlook, IE or any other software on my computer.

The mail account that I was pop’ing mail from was at capacity. As soon as I cleared out the mailbox, voila!, images in messages appeared again.

This was a purely serendipitous discovery. I cannot claim any technical thought process of any kind smile.

I am having the same problem. The SRC attribute is a valid URL (I tested it).

Is there perhaps some setting in Outlook similar to the “Show image download placeholders” in IE? The images in these same messages display correctly on a different computer in our home network.

      Many thanks,

      – Al

Thanks for doing the research. I’ll go to the manufacturer.

Thanks, Tony. I was hoping …

While we’re on the subject of slipstreaming – Is there any way to recreate a WXP installation CD from an existing system? I know what the license number is. I just cannot seem to locate the original CD.

Thanks everyone. The Belarc advisor works wonderfully!

In the past, I, too, have done the screenshot-checkoff process. I hoped that there was an easier way … indeed, there is.

Thanks, Hans. That’s what I get for copying from a Web page and pasting into Excel without trimming.

Humm, I’ll have to do some digging here. I could have sworn that I unzipped the previous-machine’s favorites into my favorites directory. Maybe I’ll just have to create a new Favorites directory and try it again. Or, perhaps, I’ll try the Export route.

      Thanks all,
