Your post is useful as a resource. I think I accomplished this through GPEDIT.

Bob, I set option 2, but it has one big downside. When an update is pending, it will now show up in Windows notification area at far right of Task Bar. Who needs that? At Ask Woody, we wait till Susan gives us the go ahead; then we use our tool, e.g., Wumgr, to download and install what we want or need. I wish I didn’t have that perpetual notification on Taskbar.

I think I managed to turn off “Pause updates” in GPEDIT. I’ll let you know soon. It’s pretty complicated.

“Get Latest updates available”   is OFF.
However, no one seems to know how to turn off Pause. That’s the problem.

Bob, thanks for reply. I have Pro but don’t see where to set Notify=2

I should add that something new just appeared when I ran Wumgr Windows Updates search: Pending is the Security Update  2024-12 for Win 11 23 H2  (KB5048685) of 12/10/24. So that’s a good sign that Wumgr may again be working?!

I assume this is a new update file we’re all awaiting approval for from Susan?

Alex, thanks for reply but I don’t understand what you settings you are advising considering that Susan doesn’t want us to install yet Windows 11 24 H2.

Get latest updates should be Off?
Pause Updates = 1 Week.  I have not other choice.

Susan, where can I post about WUmgr, which is not working for me on Win11 23H2 system. WUmgr Windows updates search will show only Windows 11 24 H2 upgrade.

    • in reply to: Wumgr on Windows 11 23H2 #2725609

Alex, I remember in a post from Susan about Wumgr not to touch any settings in “Windows Update. I did take a look at my Windows Update Settings.
      Get Latest updates available: On
Pause Updates: 1 week (no setting for “None”)
Download updates over metered connections: Off
Whether latter setting is Off or On, Wumgr Windows Update search will show only “Windows11 ver 24 H2”.

      I meant KB 5046633.

      PK, thanks for rapid response.
Have you restarted your computer?   Yes

Check in Control Panel\Programs & Features “View installed updates” to verify whether you got the November CU (in case it doesn’t show up in Update History).

      Did not get.

Does you PC show any pending updates under Settings\Update and Security\Windows Update? Unless you are blocking it, you should be offered the CU unless there is a problem with Windows Update
No pending updates. I also got KB5035942 (1126/24). Wumgr is letting me down. Perhaps I should have checked the boxes for various options like “Manual Download/Install” or “Register must update” ?
Settings/Windows Update does not show KB5046613 installed or pending. I will try again in a couple of days.
      Thanks, CMA

For my Win 23H2 system, Wumgr found and installed KB4023057  but not KB5046613. Is that a problem?

I still have to sign up and pay for Plus Membership and Master Patch List but doesn’t matter for now since Susan kindly gave answer. I even did refresh to no avail. Thanks to PK and Susan for prompt follow up, though you have issues with MPL.

I’m signed in as a paid member but don’t have access to Master Patch List. I would not have renewed my membership if I’d realized that.  What a bummer!

    • in reply to: iOS/iPadOS and WatchOS Updates #2713334

My membership is already paid through 10/2025 and I’m signed in but cannot get master patch list without making another donation.

I’m offered “Upgrade to iPadOS 18”. To rephrase question: should one update to 18.0?
