PK, I installed the updates for 22H2 (.Net and Windows) and  my OS is Win 10 Pro (19045.5737). I found the inetpub file but saw that it was created on 2/11/2022. What’s up with that?

After yesterday’s effort I learned that my antivirus was disrupting the installation of the cumulative update. Interestingly, it did not disrupt the loading or installation of .Net update. Live and learn.

Sorry, Susan. I didn’t intend it to be political; merely informative.

It’s good to know that I’m not alone. I’ll post here if the fixes that I undertook allow me to download directly from win update.

Thank you both for your help. Before posting this thread I had already done what you both suggested, except for a repair-install.

I’ll wait until there’s another update to download and see if my efforts bear fruit. Until then, I will keep this thread open. Hopefully, at that time win update will work as it should. I’ll post here so you know.

P>S>I noticed that kb4480370 has been installed. It showed up in the list of installed programs in Revo Installer.

He did what he loved and loved what he did. A very kind and brilliant man has passed on.

I will not forget the personal help he offered to me when it was needed. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Alex, I just read about this change on gHacks. A few months ago implemented the suggestions from GitHub to disable all telemetry and data collection by Firefox. Do you think these changes might be a work-around to the new privacy policy? Or, perhaps I should us an UnGoogled Chromium Browser? Thanks.

    • in reply to: Have you tried out Strict? #2741571

I made the switch from custom to strict on Firefox. So far, so good. Every site seems to load much faster, now.

After trying all of the suggestions from the MS genius I reached the same decision, Paul.

      Thanks.

    • in reply to: January 2025 patches get released #2739684

Never-mind. It appears that the “missing” updates all relate to windows recovery environment which I do not use. All my drives are backed up to an external hard drive whenever there’s an MS update, a change to my browser or a significant app.  I found and interesting discussion on this topic here.

I only received KB 50449981 and KB5050188. I did not receive KB 5050411, KB5046613 or KB5048239. My OS is Win 10 Pro 22H2 (19045.5247). For the time being I have hid the two updates I received for later installation.

Do I get missing updates from MS Update Catalog or just leave well enough alone and just install what I received? Any thoughts?
