Thanks everyone for your advice.  I have SysTools products in the past and I know they have a “SysTools PST File Converter” software that I will have to check out that is less expensive than spending $500 for one time install of MS Office 2021 Professional.

Does MS still sell multiple installs of their MS Office?

You can pick and choose which folders you want to export

Does converting a folder to CSV also include attachments and and subdirectories within a folder?

I current have Outlook 2013 and have a huge archive in PST format that I would like to convert to something that can imported to Mozilla

Why not use your current Outlook to export the emails to a .csv file?
You should be able to do custom mapping of the fields if that is necessary.

Contacts would have to be exported in another step.

Edit: I just re-read your OP where you said you want to update it occasionally. Some kind of 3rd party software might be a better choice then.

Outlook won’t let me convert the entire PST file in one step … at least that I can figure.  Plus I have a 20 year archive of important emails in my PST file.

Have you looked for an extension for Thunderbird that does this? At one time I believe ther was one. May be a lost cause now?

I have Mozilla TB no longer has anything that converts or imports PSTs.

I expect you will be able to import the PST, but not update it, unless you use Outlook.

To import the PST you need Outlook installed, otherwise it’s a (probably paid) program to convert.

      cheers, Paul

Current version of TB no longer supports importing of PST files – that’s why I was looking for some software recommendations – even if there is a slight fee.  I tried MailStore Home but it doesn’t quite do what I want.

Excellent 12/5 newsletter today.  I wish you would include the status below your MS-DEFCON status.

      • Windows 11 22H2: Not recommended
      • Windows 11 21H2: If you have a Windows 11 PC, recommended
      • Windows 10 22H2: Recommended
      • Windows 10 21H2: Recommended (if a vendor won’t support 22H2)

I use both Registry keys and In Control on my PC and even though I changed my Win10 to update for 22H2 my PC didn’t update – so your reminder about downloading from MS’s ISO page was helpful.   Thanks.

I’d recommend SysInternals AutoLogon. Been using it for years and it works great.

interesting – MS with someone else’s program on their website.

yes – but just like the thread said – now it asks me for my Microsoft account password.  Is there any way to just turn on your Win11 PC and go straight the main screen without having to confirm your PIN or password?

I believe Susan’s recommendations have NOT changed.

      OK as a home/consumer user – Windows 10 22H2 Not recommended.

But are Windows 10 22H1 updates recommended?

Like I said Susan’s newsletter this week is quite cryptic.

@PKCano – I was quoting the 11/14 newsletter in my original post – but Susan’s 11/21 seems to have changed recommendations and is now quite cryptic – unlike the 11/14 newsletter which was straight to the point.

      Susan –

So from your alert does this mean you recommend installing Windows 10 22H2 for Home/Consumers? I’m currently on Windows 10 22H1.

I wish you would have stuck with your previous simple and clear warning/instruction:

      • Windows 11 22H2: Not recommended
      • Windows 11 21H2: If you have a Windows 11 PC, recommended
      • Windows 10 22H2: Not recommended
      • Windows 10 21H2: Recommended

      Thanks
