AskWoody PlusPieterse, thanks but that leads to more questions.
While I could use styles in the 2007 program, I still want to use the other pc only running 2003 – will that work?
I would not even mind using/saving this particular spreadsheet in the 2003 mode on my 2007 rig but I guess that is not possible?

AskWoody PlusJscher2000, sorry but no success either.
Microsoft is now in the trusted sites section and is shown like that in the status bar but still no popup or information bar coming up to provide me with the option to authorise.

AskWoody PlusTed, thanks but I don’t want the information bar turned off but turned on and while I noticed in the help file some advice on how to turn it off, I could not find anything to reverse this.
I copied my settings exactly from another system that works fine but no luck – still the same problem. I also tried to use the reset to default button – also no success. It’s frustrating as it means I cannot run any manual updates or checking my windows update history.

AskWoody PlusIf that is the only issue, I have no problem with it. Just am surprised that some AV will flag this coming from MS as malware.

AskWoody PlusVirustotal does not but threatexpert did though I don’t understand this:
When I uploaded it to Avira, the onscreen result said “malware – threat Tr/Crypt.FKM.Gen. The term “Tr/” denotes a trojan horse that is able to spy out data, to violate your privacy or carry out unwanted modifications to the system. This file is detected by a special detection routine from the engine module”. I have not yet received the email finalising my submission – though I am not sure if this is their last word. Strangely enough, their installed AV did not make a peep when installing the software or scanning the pc.
I went through the online registration with MS too and everything works fine. I am starting to believe that this is a microsoft file for validation or phoning home that has perhaps characteristics of malware and due to this fact it gets flagged by some AV.
