My family has been using Skype for chat/messages for years. I’m not sure where to go next. We have iphone users, android users, windows computer users. Several of us also use Teams at work and we want to keep it completely separate. On the computer there are two different apps both named Teams (thanks Microsoft) but on the phone work and personal share the same app. If anyone has suggestions I’d love to hear them.

Condolences to Wood’s family. May he rest in peace. His early books were well used and annotated by me back in the day.

I wanted to let you know starting after the October CU for Win 11 23H2 we have seen similar issues across various computers. After installing the latest driver from Nvidia they have remained fixed. It has affected about 3% of our computers but it is a thing.

    • Terrific! Everything in one place.

I am fairly certain HP uses AMI, not Phoenix for their bios.

    • Seeing this as well on Dell Vostro laptops.

    • in reply to: Why not to use Outlook (new) #2599262

I have been wanting a replacement for Outlook for Office 365 because OST files have a size limit that is much smaller than the mailbox size Office 365 gives the users. We deal with long projects lasting 5 to 10 years. My project managers need to see emails from years ago but if you enable that, the OST files get too large and Outlook fails. This Outlook (new) does fix that but at the expense of everything you related in your post.

Lack of PST support (legacy email), lack of plugins and lack of offline support are the biggest deal killers for me.

Thanks for this post, not enough people are talking about this.

I get an error on oldergeeks.com that the certificate has expired or been revoked. Anyone else seeing this?

Memory is a funny thing. I haven’t thought about this era of technology for a long time. Every sentence set off a flurry of memories. I remember getting a system with a lot of add in cards working correctly. It’s part logic puzzle and part art. Congratulations on getting the computer up and running again and the big machine back in use. I’m glad you have kept that old knowledge and skills going! Thank you!

So far testing Server 2019 and Win 10 20H2 is going well. Fingers crossed!

This is terrific! I use many of these tools every day but having them all in one place is so handy.
