Thank you very much. I had seen this before but i chose the wrong option fill instead of fit.
I still dont know what changed it but problem solved.

Well it gets even stranger. I ran a quick scan again this morning and it scaned aprox. 81 thousand items and took about 55 secounds.
When i ran it before i started this post it only scanned about 14 thousand items. I have been using MSE for over 2 years and never seen this behavior before.
I did pick up the java/CVE virus about a month ago. it got by MSE and i only found it doing a full scan.
I think it might be in my best interest to uninstall and reinstall MSE.

I too have had this problem for a while. it is a google problem not a IE problem. google apears to be aware of the problem but ether cant or wont fix the problem.
as much as i hated to i finaly changed my default search engine from google to bing and the problem went away.
