Thank you, Fred. LangaList was my first tech newsletter subscription. Your tips and stories were a godsend. Grateful for your colleagues who continue to share the knowledge. Keeping up with tech without your expertise and patience was not pretty. I hope to join you soon following other passions. Thank you so much. Be well.

Thank you, Susan. I still use 1-2-3 and am grateful that the Lotus SmartSuite can still function after all the M$ OS changes through the years.

Typical of all software developers. When you re-invent the wheel, it should still be round.

Soft formula has worked for me for years. At some point, a loved one may need access to your files/websites. You can share a file of your passwords with them if you are unable to provide the info they need. Gives you the flexibility necessary for different password protocols (characters are not universal). Passwords are a necessary pain and, at the end of the day, ultimately are effective only if everybody is honest.

    • So…I was going to try to get by with Win 7 64-bit, but I just found out that Intuit tax preparation software I use will not support Win 7 in 2020. I was hoping to retire in 2 years, but this throws a wrench into my time line. I really don’t want to buy a new computer and go through the migration process again. Still using Lotus SmartSuite. Not sure if that will make the jump either. Rats!

I use Opera, FireFox, and am playing with Vivaldi. Opera is getting a bit chunky, but it syncs well with my phone. Unfortunately, my bank’s new website doesn’t work on Chromium-based browsers and I can’t make it work well on FireFox yet, so I use IE for that. The website is a classic example of reinventing technology that is not in need of reinventing. When one reinvents the wheel, it should still be round.
