Issue resolved itself, have no idea why. Thanks for all the input. For future reference is there a way (wireshark?) to trace a URL request for a specific browser?

unlikely broken internet as my laptop, phone and VPNed virtual machine work fine

As I stated in my initial comments I use 3 different browsers. Firefox, Chrome, Edge. All three timeout. Tried Safe Modes. When I enable my VPN they all work. Could it be Frontier blocking? Doubtful as my laptop on the same connection works fine. Something in my machine setup is blocking. Any suggestion on tool(s) to trace the block?

I’ve tried different DNS servers too.

I’ve had two synology devices for many years. The 2-drive units are lunchbox size and easy to disconnect for emergencies. They are rated high availability.

Wondering where this statement is coming from “TrueCrypt Foundation, which provides whole-volume encryption software”. TrueCrypt and the foundation are long gone. VeraCrypt is all that’s left.

I you’re going to add RAM, get enough so you can turn off the paging system. That was one item that I saw significant performance increases from.

Your fallback option is to create a virtual copy of your windows 7 machine and run the software via Virtualbox. I’ve used this method for years – still have functioning WinXP, Win98 machines.

The question I don’t see answered with cord-cutters is how do you replace your DVR? I’ve had DirecTV for years mainly because of the DVR service. I’ve tried the streaming services but they all fall WAY short of my current DVR. Even tried the HULU full package. Some programs you can record/watch without commercials, but most NOT.

Build from bare template, and save as a different name from the regular template, so you can perform both.

Thanks, problem is it ONLY customizes MY ribbon. It does not attach to the template file for others to use.

MS recommended SMBv1 be disabled.

Check your available network adapters. VB installs a couple and doesn’t do a good job of removing them.

Your router should have a display to show you which device is connected where. Doesn’t it have a map of devices connected to the wireless? My Netgear Nighthawk does.

Seems Nirsoft’s ProduKey only gives you the Microsoft product keys. I use Belarc Adviser and it gives me licenses for all installed products.
