Well, my elation was premature. I am still getting those pop up windows. Now McAfee is being touted. Same appearance otherwise. And sometimes there is a blank page that pops up and I have to refresh. One thing I didn’t mention in my first post is that the problem seems to be coming exclusively through the Washington Post website. Even though I am a paid subscriber, the WAPO has a very aggressive and annoying ad display. I tolerate it because I like the writing. One of the advertisers(TEMU) posts them with seizure inducing flashes.

So, I have installed Adguard extension for firefox. That seems to be working. It has taken all the ads from the WAPO site and disappeared them. Even with the crossword puzzle.

I hope it has. I followed the instructions in the first two responses above. Which resulted in a hit on the Malwarebytes scan. I quarantined it and hope I don’t see it again. I’ve attached a jpeg of the scan results.
