Hello, and greetings from the great free state of Tennessee.
Recently i have tried to download a screen saver ( lunar clock/calander- Screensaver .com) the program downloaded fine, but i could not run
the “zip.exe” (not supported) . do you need a (different separate) program to “un-zip” this?
    Regards Plain Fred.

The “COM” compression is a old method and I do not think the resident XP and Vista programs support it.

        DaveA,
Hello, and thank you for your response. I dont know what a “COM” compression is or does. Let me re-phrase my question. How do you “Un-Zip”
a file or program, to look at, or run? Such as some of the files on “recovery disks”, and other “files” in the operating system itself, or are there any
programs that do this? Regards Plain Fred.

All I have ever had to do was to open the zip file, by double clicking it.

Vista may not support these “com” compressed files.

            DaveA,
Greetings and thank you for your reply. I will try and download the program again and give the “double click” a try. I will post back to let all who are interested know what happened.
            Regards Plain Fred.
