YouTube playlist in reverse chronological order

Hi there,

When you add a video to a YouTube playlist, that video goes the back of the list rather to than the front.

Unfortunately, the only way YouTube allows you to change this—specifically, to sort by reverse chronology—is manually, which is time-consuming if you add videos on a regular basis.

Anyone know of a way to play a YouTube playlist in reverse chronological order?

(Several Google searches indicated that others have experienced this problem, but I couldn’t find a solution.)

I just set up my first YouTube play list.

I don’t see any options for playing in any kind of chronological order.

You can change the video sequence by clicking the number and editing it. This suggests that there must be a way to hack the script to automate it, but I’m not sure it’s worth the time to develop.

This seems like a fairly common problem, so I wonder if such a script already exists? For instance, additional Google searches turned up this, but I can’t make heads or tails out of it…

When I look at my play list,I don’t see any information about when videos were added. This is a problem for trying to write a script to change the order. If I assume they are in the original order, then the script would need to simulate the manual process of renumbering the videos: Change last video to #1, then change (the new) last video to #2, etc., until all but the original first video have been renumbered. Because you cannot edit and submit the numbers all at once (as you can in a Netflix queue), this script would be a complicated proposition.

The script you found appears to be for downloading videos, so I don’t think that one will be very helpful for editing a play list.
