    Hi,

have just upgraded to XL 2013, and I am finding navigating worksheets to be (slightly) harder than under my old XL 2007 because I am missing two buttons!

In XL 2007, there were four navigation buttons: left and right, and also first and last.
In XL 2013 the first and last buttons appear to have vanished, leaving only the left and right buttons.

Where have they gone? I used to use them a lot for navigating big spreadsheets, and find it frustrating to have to click and hold the left or right buttons instead. Or perhaps it’s just me, and I need to get used to the new best thing…

      I don’t have XL2013, but According to http://www.excel2013.info/new-interface/

The First and last worksheet butttons “have been removed. Studies found that very few people used them so Microsoft has decided to remove these buttons.”

It also indicates that “you can easily get to the first and the last worksheet by:
“holding down the Ctrl key and clicking the arrow
“click and hold down the mouse button”

        Aha!
That was the bit I was missing. That’s great – the CTRL-click does what I need. Many thanks.

          Hi Stuart

..if you had pointed your mouse over the left and right navigation buttons, it would show the message to use CTRL-click to get the first and last sheets!
You could also try right-clicking on those two navigation buttons: it still brings up a scrollable list of all worksheets to make selection of any sheet easier.
