WUMgr vs WAU Manager results

Today I tested WAU Manager (which I became aware of thanks to this thread by @John782), with a view to adding it to the Make Windows 10 look and work like Windows 7 discussion.

I had WAU Manager look for Windows 10 patches and got a list of 4 available. Then, before doing anything with them, out of curiosity I launched Windows Update Manager (WUMgr) and had that program look for patches to see how the two lists compared.

It came as a surprise to see that the two did not match. Below is a screenshot showing the results that each program gave; the window for WUMgr is inset in the window for WAU Manager:

Not sure what could account for the difference, or how.

Any thoughts/ideas?

WuMgr seems to have more recent updates showing. Try it in online mode?

Huh, that was strange. I put WUMgr in online mode as you suggested and, after asking it to search for updates once more, the two patches that were listed (KB500808 and KB500908) disappeared from the list and were replaced by the Feature Update that WAU Manager had found. (In the interim, I’d installed the other three patches this one had shown.)
