It might be interesting to learn what mobile phone plans cost around the world. This article from Android Authority is about Unlimited Data Plans which are generally the most expensive. The details are in local currencies and also have an approximate US Dollar equivalent. I was surprised by the variation in prices around the world, where they give a “Quick Answer” of: “The price of a cheap unlimited plan around the world ranges from $4.17 per month in India to $65.04 in South Korea.” Probably most people do not use the expensive “unlimited plans” but it is an interesting chart that is provided. Maybe some people around the world will comment on what they pay each month for mobile phone service (?) I use a Tracfone with the One Year Plan that has only 1.5 GB Total Data and costs $125 USD a year, so that equates to about $10.50 USD a month because of extra Government Taxes and Fees and Charges, etc. That plan is meant for people who use Wi-Fi for their internet, not Cellular Data, and more Data can be purchased separately if needed. I do my best to find Tracfone Promo / Coupon codes to lower the cost whenever possible.

How much do unlimited phone plans cost around the world?

“Which country gets the best deal on an unlimited phone plan? An unlimited phone plan gives you the freedom to stream or download outside of a Wi-Fi connection without worrying about being capped or incurring overuse fees, but these also tend to be the most expensive plans on offer. Because we’re obsessed with this sort of stuff, we wondered which countries have the cheapest unlimited phone plans and which charge the most for this holy grail of services. We decided to find out.”

I pay ~$8 per month per device (I have 3 devices : iPhone, iPad, partner’s Android phone and Apple watch eSIM)

      5G
      400GB of data
      3000 min phone calls
      3000 messages/SMS
      500 minutes overseas phone calls.
Including no charge for smartwatch eSIM (I use an Apple watch Ultra).

I’m on Consumer Cellular’s basic plan which is Unlimited Talk/Text and 1Gb of data at $20/mo. An extra line for my wife is $15 and we share the data. With taxes & fees $47/mo.

      Two perks:

      • If you go over data they just jump you to the next plan + $5.00 for 5Gb and you can switch back the next month.
      • You get US based customer service and they never rush you and always follow upl.

FYI: they resell both AT&T and Verizon so you can pick your network.

        I use Consumer Cellular Unlimited Talk/Text/Data – 2 lines – slight slow down after 50 GBs, but still useable – $65 + tax/month.

Thanks for the info! I knew they were a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) off of AT&T’s network, but had no idea they used Verizon’s as well.

In their commercials, when they’ve mentioned “overpriced” (my term) rates, they’ve shown that their rate is compared to T-Mobile and Verizon, but never have they included AT&T in their rate comparisons. I always thought that it was because their permission to use AT&T’s network probably included some sort of clause that any price comparisons wouldn’t mention anything about AT&T’s rates.
