    Hi,

If you put a watermark, i.e. by going to:

Format -> Background -> Printed Watermark

    and apply “Draft” for example.

Then I want to print duplex on my simple printer (which has no duplex tray), so I print ODD PAGES only, what happens is that it ONLY prints half the letters of the watermark on 1 page & half on the other, so you get “D A T” on 1 page and “R F” on the next!

Is there any way to solve this palaver?

You’ve got to be kidding. That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard of. Obviously the watermark should be on every page. If you substitute some other WordArt, does it do the same thing?

        That seems to work Ok.

I tried the old system again & same problem.

Guess it’s another bug Bill Gate’s guys need to sort out.

When you try it printing on every page, does it print? When you go to Print Preview, what does it show? Check the margin settings of the header. Also, I wonder if the printer driver is incorrect. Try changing Tools/Options/Compatibility Options/Use printer metrics to lay out document to place a checkmark there.

From what I can tell, a watermark is WordArt with certain parameters set. It’s possible that one of the parameters, such as the degree of transparency, is what is causing the problem with your printer driver, or Word’s interaction with your printer driver. Perhaps the best you can do is insert the watermark and then tweak its settings until it works for your environment.

I’m having the same issue – the Watermark shows up fine on the Print Preview, but prints alternating letters for the pages. I’ll see if the print driver needs to be updated and will come back to the post to let you know what happens.

Does it work better if you select Format | Background | Printed Watermark and clear the Semi-transparent check box?

              That worked! Thanks so much.
