Have a defective CD-ROM for Word 2000 that was part of Works Suite 2000. Can install Word 2000 but not upgrade to SR-1 as CD-ROM is no longer readable. Do I have to buy a complete replacement or can I just get a replacement CD. Can’t find any info on Microsoft Web. No information in the literature supplied with Works Suite 2000. Still have the original packaging and sales slip. Any information appreciated. Thanks

Don’t know where you live but in the UK your first action would be to take the faulty goods back to the vendor. If they sold you a dud they should replace it. If it’s failed because of something you’ve done to it, that’s another matter entirely.

      Regards,

You can get a replacement disk from Microsoft. They may charge you shipping and a nominal amount for the disk.
