I have a simple document with a long table. There are two problems that I am having:

#1 – The table starts on page #2, if I grab the upper left of the table (the 4 headed Move Arrow), and drag the table up to the first page, ittakes 12 pages worth of data and leaves me with 4 pages. What could be screwing that move up? I thought it would be simple to just move the starting point.

#2 – The table breaks nicely over pages for the most part, but on some of the pages, there is a small section of table (say 2″ worth), and the next row starts on the next page. All of the rows have “Allow to break accross pages” checked. ANy thoughts on why some of the rows break how I would expect and some do not?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Check for paragraphs that have Keep With Next in their paragraph format. This is a common cause of the problem you described.

Bingo! Thanks Stuart, that solved both problems. The Keep with Next controls if that section will start on a new page or not. Very interesting – and the documentation had nothing that I could find on this 😉

        Thanks again,
