I built a COM Add-In for Word but no events can be intercepted with the overriding macros. These macros works fine when they are in a template. I cannot figure out any reason for this.

Can the overriding macros be used in this way?

Can you be a tad more specific? Which events are you trying to trap, and how?

unfortunately, there is no way to pass overridable word commands (FilePrint, FileSaveAs, …) to a com add-in, without using a template. this follows logivally from the fact that a com addin is available to all office applications, but the word command overridability is a specific word solution.

Thanks for the clarification. I haven’t looked into COM add-ins, so they’re unfamiliar territory for me.

That makes sense for the problem.
          Thanks
