    Hi

I wonder if anyone can help with this.
    I
have a macro that is called from a progress application which merges data into a letter.
We have happily used this in Word 2000 for some time but are now encountering problems when running the macros with version 2003 the errors may be related.

The first problem is that the sometimes the application cannot find the macro even though it is calling the local version of word.
But when we open word locally the macro is listed as available

The second problem is that when the macro does run successfully we get an error message when exiting word, the 2 open documents close but when the user tries to close the instance of word. We get an error about it already being in use.

When i looked at the detail of the error, is suggested that there is a read lock on the file we are attempting to open.
However we are trying to close Word not Open it.

These problems only occur when using Version 2003 of Word.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated

    Mich

      Hi

Just wanted to let you know that after reading some earlier posts, it would seem our problems were caused by Microsoft Word being set as email editor in Outlook 2003.
We unticked this option and the macros work and word closes properly.
