I have a resume I am helping a co-worker on that I am having formatting issues with. There is a piece of a column on the 2nd page that I can’t remove for the life of me. Is there anyone who might be able to assist?

I just experimented with it and it more or less vanished on its own after a second or two when I did the following:

Put the cursor in the unwanted row on page two.

Changed the font size to one point (1pt) by entering 1 in the font size drop-down, and pressing enter.

Hopefully this will work for you, but of course YMMV.

A very simple mistake and easy to fix. The posted .docx is your document fixed.
What caused it was an extra Enter key stroke that added the next line from the first page. Since that line was part of the big cell at the bottom of the first page deleting it caused a deletion of the entire cell.

To fix yourself: Press the Paragraph mark in the Paragraph group of the Home Tab. Look at the bottom of the last row on the first page to the paragraph mark. See image below. Place the cursor in front of this Paragraph mark and press the Backspace to remove it. You will see that extra row below disappear.

Thank you both for the assistance. I am able to adjust it and now have learned multiple ways to fix this if it happens again. Learning is fun!

Working on a table in Word that has borders on the bottom of each row. The table laps over to a second page, and one of the rows is split between page 1 and 2. Not an issue except that Word puts a border on top and bottom of the row on the second page. Cannot get rid of this unwanted line on top of page 2.

      Thanks in advance

Word has a setting to decide if the row can be allowed to break onto the next page. Unchecking this setting has the entire row go to the next page if more space is needed and not break the row into two parts.

Click to select the table and right click the table icon to select Table Properties from the context menu.
Select the Row tab (see image below)
Uncheck the box next to Allow row to break across pages.
Click OK to save your changes.
