• Word as Editor Toolbars (OL 2003 SP2)

I’ve never used Word as editor but was asked last week how to get Word’s email toolbar to stick in the position to which the user dragged it. Each time a new message is created the toolbar shows up at the bottom of the menus and below the address line. I have attached a screen shot showing the “desired” and the “default” positioning. I have renamed the “OUTCMD.DAT” and the “NORMAL.DOT” without seeing a change in the behavior so I wonder if this is just the nature of the beast.

Since I use Outlook 2003’s builtin editor and not Word I don’t have much exposure to this and wonder if there is a way to freeze or lock the toolbars.

    Thanks,

    Jester

Have you tried customizing the message form? In Outlook – Tools | Forms | Select a Form.

Nothing was done such as a form customization or is that your suggested solution?

New e-mails are controlled by the message form. So, yes I guess that my suggestion is to try the modification.

We tried a new XP profile but found that all users on this machine had the issue so uninstalled office, deleted our C:OPTIONSMSOCACHEALL USER folder and reinstalled. Issue is resolved.
