Can Word 2002 open a Word 2 for DOS file?

    Thanks

I’m sure it can but it may not bring the formatting across with it.

Open Word and do a File > Open and select the file. If that fails, try again and set the file type to “Recover text from any file”. Remember to turn this setting off afterwards or your more recent files will look crazy when you open them.

The normal install of Word does not include all of the filters for old file formats. If you restart the Office installer and look under Word for Text Converters, you can see which Word for DOS versions are included. I really doubt they go that far back…
