On a Dell Inspiron 7500 with 256 MB RAM
Word refuses to save. Clicking save, button goes down but notghing happens. Title still shows Document 1
Same with Save As. No dialogue box opens.
This has happened before and I eventually removed (Uninstall + a lot of extra work) Word completely – Am I the only one who thinks its crazy to combine install/uninstall on a single button???- and fixed it that way.
Tried that tjhis time – no effect,.
Then tried a different template . Word then behaved in a manner which is as near as Word ever gets to being a perfect gentleman. 2 hours wasted. Any other suggestions to get the ……. working fully?

Is the document you are trying to save based on Normal.dot or some other template?

On Normal.doc It fails to save new docs based on Normal.dot and also existing docs.
However I opened a letter template that I created and use occasionally and that saves fine.
I can workaround it but it would be nice to cure it and not have to waste time working round by copying and pasting into docs based on the other template

Yes of course but its 369k. I’ve zipped it but still too large. Is there an email address I can send it to?

May I add, that carrying around a big Normal.dot like that is asking for trouble. Break out your projects into other templates. If you need them all all the time, put them in your startup folder. Please don’t be offended, but you’ve got to get that thing organized.

Also, I’m going to have a slow time responding because I am unfamiliar with wordbasic (and wish to stay that way).

Also, you are running several libraries I don’t have so I’ll have to turn off the code that references them. If a doc saves ok with that code off, your problem relates to one of those. (ControlDemo is one I’ve never heard of.)
