Word 2007 List Styles and Numbering

Hi, all.
After mastering (to a large degree) the concept of numbered lists and styles in Word 2003, I find that most of it isn’t transferring to 2007.

As a little background, I have created a template “system” that made extensive use of numbered styles; I was even able to make it relatively self-healing! I used to be able to fly through the process of defining, modifying, and trouble-shooting the lists and galleries, but alas, Word 2007 seems to have changed the game. Can someone guide me to a GOOD reference for this topic, hopefully one for power-users and developers?

I can only hold them off with my seat-of-the-pants alchemy for so long!

It was very useful to me when I was first trying to master list numbering in Word 2007 (verrrry different from previous versions) so that I could put together my own tutorial on numbering that I could use for trainings as well as for my book.
