I typed a series of dashes which Word 2007 changed to a solid line. I now want to delete the line. However there seems to be no way of selecting the line so I can delete it.

Word doesn’t seem to be seeing it as a “drawing” line so I can’t select with that method.

I have all formatting marks turned on so I tried selecting the paragraph mark before the line to the paragraph mark after the line and deleting. It deleted the two paragraph marks but left the line.

Click on the borders & shading arrow in the paragraph group on the home tab ribbon. At the bottom, select borders and shading.
You’ll probably notice that you have a solid line as a paragraph border. Click on the None option in the setting section.
