I recently edited a document in Word 2002 on my laptop and when I tried to import the text file into a Publisher 2000 doc I recieved a message that Publisher couldn’t import the file. Word 2000 opens the file without any trouble.

I had a similar problem with Pub 2002 being unable to open a Pub 2000 document. A tipster advised me to unload surplus fonts from Windows, and that worked for me.

Publisher 2000 cannot import Word Documents with objects in them. Only Word Documents with TEXT.

Publisher 2002 supports the ability to import Word Documents with objects.
