I just bought a new computer and of course it has Vista pre-ionsatlled. I got WOPR 2003 installed but I can’t get any of the macros to run. Anyone have ideas to get WOPR to run under Vista?

Do you get specific error messages?
In Office 2003, do have the security settings tweaked to allow add-ins to run?
Vista may well be layering some additional restrictions on top of what was built into Office, but I don’t use Vista, so it’s difficult to explore…

The specific error message I get when I try to load WOPR thorugh the WOPR COmmander icon is “Procedure ‘frmWOPRCmdr.fintINSTALLAddIn()’ in “Microsoft Word” encountered Error #5180 – Word cannot open the document template.”
I am not sure whyat yuou mean by tweaking the security settings. I have security set to “medium” which is what worked on my previous system.
I am new to Vista and there may well be additional security layers but I am not sure if they affect Word 2003. It seems to me that Word security settings are all that should have enayitnhg to do with WOPR.

I had no problems using WOPR2003, Office 2003 and Vista. However I changed to Office 2007 and unfortunately WOPR2003 does not work on Office 2007. I cannot remember having set any special settings apart from the macro settings to medium or even low. Be sure to have your antivirus etc updated when you do.

I am not having problems with Office 2003 and Vista, but my WOPR 2003 installation does not work. Any insights would be helpful.

I run XP Pro and Office 2003 and some time last year I also got the same message and have been unable to run WOPR since. So it isn’t a Vista issue. I would love someone to answer your question. I have been unable to fix this. Uninstalled both regular and manual and reinstalled and set permissions and security and still not able to load WOPR. Always get “Procedure ‘frmWOPRCmdr.fintINSTALLAddIn()’ in “Microsoft Word” encountered Error #5180 – Word cannot open the document template.”

Thanks for letting me know it’s not a Vista issue. I am still at a loss why WOPR cannot be started from Word, although the program is installed. I will try Microsfot next and see if the eroor code can be explained.
