I used to use WS_FTP95 to transfer files to and from my Internet Service Provider, but Secunia kept complaining that this was an end-of-life programme and suggesting I replace it.

I browsed around the Internet today and found WinSCP. So far it is very impressive.

    • It’s free
    • It has a very simple GUI interface, which can run in two modes, Explorer-like or Norton Commander like
    • It seems very quick
    • It does everything that I used to do with WS_FTP
    • It has an active support forum and Secunia doesn’t complain about it

I’ve no idea if it’s in the same league as your suggestion but I use http://www.coreftp.com/%5B/url%5D to move stuff to & from my ISP.

I’ve been very happy with Fire ftp, which is a Firefox addon. Very simple and gets on with uploading in the right format without causing problems, which can’t be said for Filezilla.
