I am running Windows 10 Home version 1903 and have the same question.  I used wushowhide to hide KB4584229 so that it won’t install.

Can you run this command in Powershell and share the generated log on desktop?

        Get-WindowsUpdateLog -ForceFlush

If you install Edge (Chromium) through Windows Update, you cannot (easily) uninstall it if you don’t want it.

If you want Edge (Chromium), it is better to download it from the Microsoft website and install it like a separate program.

Either way, it may replace your currant browser as default. So you may  have to reset the default in the Settings App if you don’t want to use it as default.

It doesn’t automatically replace your current default browser:

The automatic rollout will maintain your default browser setting – if your default is currently set to a browser other than Microsoft Edge, your setting will carry over once the new Microsoft Edge is installed.

You need to do the search w/o the space between the KB and the # perhaps?

      🍻

Just because you don't know where you are going doesn't mean any road will get you there.

Hi, I uninstalled Edge using  a uninstaller like Revo . Now the system is pushing the update KB4584229, about which I don’t find details . (Wonder if it would reeinstall Edge, then I could uninstall both again).

My question is can you give more details on “I used wushowhide to hide KB4584229 so that it won’t install.”

The new Microsoft Edge is included with April 2021 Cumulative Update
so you will have to uninstall it afterwards

MS could reinstall it with each new CU going forward

wushowhide or WuMgr will let you hide updates, but if the update is re-released by MS it will turn up in your queue again.
Easiest to leave Edge installed but not use it

      cheers, Paul
