..Right now, you need to use PC Health Check Tool to check compatibility issues with Windows 11. However, in the Release Preview Channel, Microsoft has added a notification that would reveal more about the situation.
As you can see in (the above) screenshot, the message tells the user that their device is ready for Windows 11:
“Great news—your PC meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 11. Specific timing for when it will be offered can vary as we get it ready for you. Note: Some Windows 10 features aren’t available in Windows 11. Certain apps and features may have additional” – Windows Update.
It also links to relevant support articles that include more information about Windows 11 requirements and removed features…
Microsoft is currently rolling out the above compatibility message to testers in the Release Preview Channel of the Windows Insider program.

AskWoody PlusOctober 12, 2021 at 10:57 am #2395441This morning, when viewing Windows Update (under Settings), I saw the following message re: This PC can run Windows 11:
Does anyone know if it’s safe to click on “Check device specifications”? I am concerned about this turning me into a seeker as has happened to others with “Check for updates.”

AskWoody PlusOctober 12, 2021 at 1:31 pm #2395524Why you want to run “Check device specifications”?. This will bring you to Microsoft’s Windows 11 ads.
Just wait for Microsoft to offer you Windows 11 if you want to upgrade. Otherwise use GPedit (on Pro) or the registry hack on Home and Pro to lock your PC on Windows 10 until you decide otherwise.

AskWoody PlusOctober 12, 2021 at 3:20 pm #2395555I have no desire to upgrade to Windows 11 for the time being. The way I initially interpreted Microsoft’s message (i.e., “Note: Some Windows 10 features aren’t available in Windows 11. Certain apps and features may have additional requirements. Check device specifications.”) was that it would let me know which apps and features on my device weren’t supported. I was just curious about what I would find out but didn’t want to inadvertently become a seeker in the process. That was why I posted my original question.

AskWoody LoungerNovember 3, 2021 at 8:57 pm #2399811No, I took no actions to modify the policies or registry. Initially I thought that I would not see the notification of a future update due to dell not yet adding a win11 section for the workstation, but that changed 7-10 days ago… thus me wondering if it’s something wrong on my side vs being a matter of time.
From the start I had the idea/suspect that nothing would be offered/shown until things were smoothed out for systems running Pro for Workstation
