I’ve been using WUMT for a few months on my Win 10 22H2 computer and all seems to be working as expected.

I am having an issue on my Win 11 22H2 laptop.  I installed WUMT on it in late February after letting Windows Update install the February updates.  At that time I un-paused updates in Windows Updates in order to install the update.  Then I installed WUMT and set it up with the same options as on my Win 10 computer.

Despite have WUMT on the laptop, the March Cumulative Update for Win 11 was automatically installed last night by Windows Update.

Any ideas on why WUMT didn’t stop the update from automatically being installed.

I have attached a screenshot of the WUMT settings.

    Thanks,

    Bill

you did not mention which “editions” of Windows 10 & Windows 11 that you have on both of your computers, BillH.

are you using the Home editions or the Pro/Professional editions of Windows?
type winver.exe in the Run dialog box to show the Windows version & edition.

edit – some of the WUMT settings may get ignored (or have no effect) when using the Home/Core editions but seem to work properly with at least the Pro editions; that’s why I asked you about which editions of Windows you are using.

Sorry, I didn’t think it would matter.  The Win 10 computer is Win 10 Pro.  The laptop is Win 11 Home.

      Thanks,

      Bill

it does matter because some of the WUMT settings you chose seem to work only with at least the Pro edition.

I edited my previous comment saying that some of the WUMT settings can get ignored on the Home editions of Windows.

also I “meter” my internet connections (aka. set any network connection to “metered”), which stops certain (but not all) updates from automatically downloading & installing

OK.  That is a bit weird though.  I’ve seen in several places that people are using WUMT with Windows 10 Home and Windows 11 Home.  Do you have any more specifics on what doesn’t work on Home editions?

          Thanks,

          Bill
