Currently running Windows 10 Version 21H2 ( Build 19044.2251 ), Microsoft still does not offer me the latest version 22h2. Is this normal?

I have two installations of Win10 21H2 that are still not being offered 22H2. This is not uncommon. Microsoft assesses the hardware and software and puts a hold on any that are causing problems for later release.

If you want to get around that, and force the issue, you can try the Microsoft Update Assistant or the Media Creation Tool to go ahead and upgrade. Both are available on the Microsoft website.
Google your computer’s specs and see if any are causing issues.

AND be sure to make a full disk image and a separate data backup FIRST, in case you run into a non-recoverable problem

My experience on a couple of home computers has convinced me that by far the easiest way to go from 21H2 to 22H2 is Microsoft’s “enablement package” KB5015684. (If I remember correctly, the file is less than 1mb.)

        This link takes you to a good general overview from a reputable source;
https://borncity.com/win/2022/07/29/windows-10-22h2-preview-update-kb5015684-und-hinweise-zum-release-termin/ (The article is in English.)

As the author indicates, the problem is where to find the download since MS doesn’t offer it in the Windows Catalog. I have no tip to offer here; you have to use your judgment.

        I hope this helps.

I can personally verify the “enablement package” (KB5015684) is only 177 KB as I downloaded and installed it back on Oct 23.

There’s a direct download link from the “official” MS update servers in my post#2491427.

It took less than 5 mins to update my Win10 Pro 21H2 to 22H2 and I haven’t encountered any strange or unusual problems using my PC; including successful installation of the recent Nov KB5019959 CU and KB5020694 .NET updates!

      Good morning,
Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. It seems that this type of update by “enablement package” is different from the usual updates. In doubt and in view of the little new expected, I think it is safer to wait at least until the end of the month. I will then advise…
Thank you again and ….. see you soon, perhaps!

      Good morning,
Finally, I managed to update Windows 10 to the latest, 22H2.
I used the Microsoft update wizard, the latest version (the executable is called Windows10Upgrade9252.exe ).
I had already tried using the version on my PC, which told me that I was up to date!
With the “right” version, everything went through dialogs and went smoothly.
      Thanks again for your help.
      Sincerely,
      Michel MONTAGNE.
