Running W10 21H1 (just updated) on HP Envy Laptop.
Running v1.1b wumgr.

With either Automatic Update or Disable Automatic Update selected, all of the following are greyed out.
Block Access to WU Servers.
Notification only.
Download Only.
Why are they greyed out?

Will wumgr work with a metered connection?

It appears that with Automatic Update selected and Windows Update items left alone the normal WU process occurs. Disable Automatic Update needs to be selected to allow manual download and install. Or am I missing something?

Thanks for the link. I was already familiar with the link you posted and had reviewed it before I posted my questions. Unless I missed something, the answers to my questions were not included in that topic.

That’s correct, you are not missing anything. Tick the radio button for Disable Automatic Update, and then you have full control of which updates to install, and when. In fact, this way the question of a metered connection doesn’t even come into play.

I, too, have noticed that there seems to be no way to make those three options clickable. There is much that remains mysterious about WUMgr and I do wish that the author would invest some time putting together a proper user guide rather than leaving it to us users to find out by trial and error.

Thank you for your comments, it helps to get confirmation that my trial and error methods did help me figure out how (to some degree) to use wumgr. I agree with you about a proper user guide, that would really help.
