This mix of Control Panel and Settings was dumb from the start. Couldn’t have made a more confusing combination. I think there is a solid argument overall that much of the changes in Windows 11 were never needed and were the result of a bored Windows team who wanted to pull a Steven Sinofsky and create their own mark on Windows.

Same on my Mac.  Note to developers….stop trying to fix what’s not broken.

For me, a 75 year-old, the Control Panel and W-10’s Settings is something I’d thoroughly dig through when I got a new computer. I wanted to be able to find everything I wanted quickly. I needed to shut-off, disable, un-install, just say no!, no!, no!, to all the crap I didn’t want, or want my computer to do for me- because it usually didn’t work the way I wanted it to work.  So, the important thing is “don’t make me search for a setting”. After I get things squared away, I don’t visit the Control Panel / Settings very often.

I think many users feel this way.
