    I keep getting this message, but it is active in the Options / Add-ins, and the Windows Search in the Control panel / Programs I selected.

    How do I fix this?

    Regards,

      Check your Windows services to make sure the Windows Search service and the services it depends on are running. Check the event logs for errors relating to search.

        Joe;

        It appears that it was the Windows Search service that was disabled, although I dunno why it was.

        Thanks,
        Chuck

      You didn’t follow any of the Windows Services disable performance tweaks by any chance?

        Jerry, not that I know of, but then, I have been known to catch myself coming and going at the same time!
