Not certain where to post this… Win XP pro with Novell client 4.83 during login generates WSH error apparently with our workstation startup “StartUser.WSF” If we click OK the login continues and all is fine…at least appears to be fine.

While debugging this I tried to use our SMS supplied advertised programs updates to verify I was current for several items. I got a very similar error for the “updater.wsf”.

In both cases the error was similar since it details a script file by name, Line: 0, Char: 1, Error: Cannot create object, Code: 80040066, Source: Windows Script Host.

I can find no smoking gun on this but thought updating the WSH to version 5.6 might resolve issue, thinking that a new install of the scripting utility on the workstation might eliminate what was broken or missing. No such luck.

Until I can contact our scripting gurus I am trying to research on my own. Has anyone pointers on what might be happening or in this case NOT happening?

    Thanks,

    Jester

It could be a permissions issue. Is the user that this happens to limited on the machine?

Same thing happens to me and I am an admin equivalent. Box is standard corp image and problem does not occur on other boxes in this group.
