As I report elsewhere, I plan to install Microsoft’s Virtual Machine on my XP-Home computer, to simplify use of Office 2000 with PageMaker. My understanding is that I will need a separate license for the ‘guest’ operating system. To avoid buying another XP license, I have tested using Windows ME from a retired computer (which used to run Office 2000 and PageMaker without major problems) as the guest operating system

Apart from the fact that everyone loves to hate Windows ME, can anyone report experience of this, and suggest any possible pitfalls I should be ready for?

If this works, I’ll probably do the same later when I upgrade to Windows 7, except to use the retired copy of XP-Home as the guest operating system.

If you are using Virtual PC 2007 see Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 System Requirements for more information. XP home is NOT a supported host operating sytem.
