What do you see on the screen?
Is the screen black? Does it show a choice to enter setup (F1, F2, ESC, etc)
Do you reach the Login screen? Desktop?

Screen is black until the desktop is displayed. Surface seems to boot and otherwise operate normally. Don’t use a login screen.

      Thanks,

Here’s three things you can try to see if they help.

1st, make sure the No GUI boot option is not set.

Press WinKey+R, enter msconfig and press enter.
Select the Boot tab and ensure the No GUI boot option is “unchecked”.
      Reboot your PC.

      No-GUI-boot

      2nd, disable fast start.

Go to Control Panel > System & Security > Power options > Choose what the power button does.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable and disable the Turn on fast startup (recommended) option.
      Reboot your PC.

3rd, check to ensure your Project Screen Options is set for PC screen only.

Press Winkey+P to open the Project menu and ensure it’s set to PC screen only like this.

No GUI Boot is NOT checked. Turn on fast startup is NOT checked. Project is set to Second Screen Only since I use an external monitor. I’ve had this setup for a number of years and the logo has always appeared on the Surface display until the desktop appeared on the monitor until very recently, possibly after the September C.U. was installed.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I’m afraid the problem lies elsewhere.
