    When I select ‘Spotlight’ for the lock screen display on startup it immediately reverts to ‘Picture’ mode.
    I have tried the Microsoft recommended fixes, registry, etc but none of the recommendations  fix-it.

    Anyone got any ideas??

    Thanking you in anticipation,

      @Gordski

      Look through each post in the following thread from the Microsoft Answers forum. I’m absolutely positive you’ve tried some of the solutions presented, because you did say that

      I have tried the Microsoft recommended fixes, registry, etc but none of the recommendations fix-it.

      However, I see that there are MANY different fixes from MANY different posters in that thread, so there just might be a few that you haven’t tried and one of them just might do the trick for you. There are posts from folks who have Windows 10 and folks who have Windows 11.

        Hi,
        Thank you for the link, I’ll give a whirl and see what pops up that I haven’t yet done.

      If Windows Spotlights stops working and/or stops changing the background image, you can reset and re-register Windows Spotlight to fix it.

        Thank you for your thought.

        However, Windows Spotlight has never worked.
        I have previously done the reset and re-register routines but neither fixed the problem.

          Either of these relevant (from the top of that tutorial)?

          Windows Spotlight will not work while connected to a metered network

          Windows Spotlight requires Background Apps to be turned on.
