Windows Installer service not accessed

Was trying to install an application and got the following message:
“Error 1719. Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support ….”

Googled it and try a few links but no solution yet. Anyone know how to fix this error?

Did you come across this MS method in your Google travels –

If that didn’t work then you can restore the Windows Installer service by downloading and merging it from –

But first go Start – type services.msc and press enter then scroll down to it to check that it is set to Manual.

You can click on it then on Start in the upper left pane and then try your install again, but if it isn’t set to Manual then right click on it and select Properties then use the dropdown to change its status to Manual – Apply – OK and you can click on Start from there.

I found a work around for the app I’m installing but I’ll certainly give your suggestion(s) a try.

Sometimes when you can’t install in normal mode, then it can install in Safe Mode with Networking – or Save the download then right click on it and select Run as administrator after you have drilled down to the .exe/Application.

BTW – What was your workaround ?

Work around was specific to application, a different download that didn’t require the installer.

Yes, a number of the fixes I tried involved the safe mode so I’m familiar with the aspects of using it. But appreciate you notes about it.
