This is a weird one, and it’s beyond my knowledge. I have one user who works on a PC that also has a Troy HP Printer direct connected that prints our our County checks. We have Office 2007 installed on that PC, and every time that the user opens up Word, Excel, etc. she get the Windows Installer message “Preparing to Install….” and it’s a considerable amount of time before the program loads and she’s able to work. This happens every time she tries to open one of the Office applications. I have first repaired Office and then removed and reinstalled. The second seemed to make it work better for a short while, but now she considers it as bad as ever.
To me it appears to be the same message that one received if you have both Office 2007 and Office 2003 on the same PC and when you go back and forth between the versions, that message appears, but there doesn’t appear to by anything of prior version remaining on the system. Help, I’m desperate on this one my user is rebelling! Appreciate any thoughts!
