well at least there’s one less “ring” to worry about 😀

Some additional news…. .the person in charge of flighting at Microsoft said at Ignite on Wednesday that she doesn’t like the “fast” and “slow” ring terminology, and that they’re going to be changing this in the next couple of months.

It’s here in this video at about 15:00:

Maybe they could put the terminology out to the Insiders and see which one gets the most upvotes. I bet it would be the one with an emoji on the end of it.

And one Ring to rule them all…………

I’m not sure who that is, she’s right – it’d be GREAT if MS could change the terminology.

Inhouse – Canary – Fast – Slow is traditional terminology, when you have one product. Microsoft doesn’t have one product. They have multiple products in beta testing at any given time.

Hey, MS…. how about “20H2 beta” or (if you must) “20H2 beta fast” and “20H2 beta slow.”

And try “1909 beta” instead of “Release Preview Ring”.

      (a little stupid wishful thinking):
Does this mean that the updates / upgrades become reliable again, so that the circus days of full imaging and of lengthy system tests are over? That there will be real beta and production versions again?
