Can anyone tell me if I reset Windows 10 Pro and keep my files will it change my firewall rules? I have inbound and outbound rules set to run Plex Media Server and don’t want to start all over changing them back again to work. Thanks for any help.

IMHO ‘a reset’ isn’t cannot always be guaranteed with win10. certainly, when people often seek help after upgrades have glitches.

but one method could be to create an image of the system, as a backup… then run the reset and if its successful, all is good. if not… there’s always the backup image to reinstall back to square one.

its a run around but at least there’s an insurance, if win10 doesn’t play ball.

I cannot say definitely but I believe a reset will do exactly that – reset everything back to the defaults.

Why do you feel the need to do a reset? Do you intend to wipe your installed programs?

You can always EXPORT your firewall rules, and then import them back after a reset.
