Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |
When I open Windows explorer to see my computers folders and files, it is okay in the middle view (not minimized, not maximized) but if I put it up to maximize, it shifts down and to the right so the bottom and right edge are off the screen and I cannot access the minimize and close buttons in the top right hand corner. It has only just started doing this and I cannot drag it back up where it belongs with the bar at the top.
How can I get it moved back where it should be? 
Now you’ve got me wondering about viruses.
One of my users has this problem with IE4.?. In “restore” mode I can move the windows around the screen, in “maximised” mode both the right and bottom edges are “off screen”. 
Will check his AV s/w and get back!
Okay, the computer gods are smiling on me today — I downloaded a bunch of updates from Windows so I would have the latest patches, ran scan which came up “okay,” got to thinking about trying to kill out a program called twofer, which puts up side by side explorer screens (unmaximized and they where working fine), since I hardly ever use it, and also got to thinking of trying to reinstall explorer off our network. In the process of trying to find explorer on the network, I instead managed, rather accidently, to reinstall twofer instead. And low and behold, explorer is suddenly okay!
