When I right click on the round windows button in the lower left of screen I get two options:

    Properties
    Open Windows Explorer

When I left click on Open Windows Explorer, it doesn’t show all my drives, etc. For example, I have a flash drive plugged in and it doesn’t show up. How do I change settings, etc so this shows??

    Thanks.

On this system, that process opens at the “Library” level. So, scroll down and left click on “Computer”. Or use the Windows key + E to open at “Computer”.

Use the Windows key + E to open Windows Explorer. This opens at the My Computer (C Drive) level which is more appropriate for what you want.

You can also open the Windows Explorer and Right Click on the drive you wish and choose Create a Shortcut. This will place a shortcut to that drive on the desktop. Or Right Click on the desktop and choose Personalize, then choose Change Desktop Icons and place icons on your desktop from here. As you can imagine there are several methods to do almost anything in Win 7.

Oh sorry, I did not read Joe’s entire post. Sorry for the repeat.

Few days late in replying to this but here goes!

When you open explorer using this method, click Organise at the top, then Layout and ensure Navigation Pane is selected.
