Weird, huh? The LAST update was 1.297.1128.0. This was created on JULY 14. It was “bumped” twice since then once at 2AM July 15 and again at around 1PM on the 15th.

I thought my Windows 10 Pro was stuck on the old version and I even switched over to my Windows 8 computer expecting to see a newer version, but it was still showing this older version.

I update manually every morning on my Windows 10 Pro computer. (Update is via a task every 24 hours on the Windows 8.0 Pro computer). Today, it didn’t check so I waited a bit and tried again and it checked and got the bump but that is NOT a new version. I’ve seen Microsoft employ the “bump” occasionally but not twice in 24 hours).

I don’t think this is “resolved”. I just tried to update Windows Defender on my Windows 10 Pro machine. It updated THREE TIMES and finally the last update is the “current one” shown here:
        https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions

But look at the time! It is 1:11AM here in Hawaii on July 17. That update that I just got is time stamped 10:38 AM July 17.

That doesn’t make sense as that is in the future even by PDT that Microsoft is on. I’ve never had Defender update three times in a row before either. I updated 12 hours ago so how could there be three new updates in 12 hours and the last one being time stamped hours into the future?

I think Windows Defender update times may have been weird for many people for up to the last year:

(And it doesn’t seem to be caused by their use of UTC/GMT.)

Thank you for the link to that thread. I never had these problems on 1709. I upgraded to 1803 on April 7. So, the problem exists not only on 1809, as that thread reveals, but also on 1803. Ugh.
