Short note for Windows users who are shocked by Microsoft Defender reporting a virus detection Behaviour:Win32/Hive.ZY on their system on Sunday (Sept. 4 2022). It’s a false positive.

I think it may depend on the apps installed as I’m not seeing it here. While I have Chrome, I don’t have some of the others (or it’s been fixed by the time I woke up

But still not seeing it here either on office pcs or home. Like the issue yesterday I wonder if there is some other trigger at play and not just launching Chrome or Edge. I’ll keep an eye out.

As of this writing, with 1.323.1530.0 for the Defender signatures, I haven’t seen a thing on either of my two computers, and they’ve both been running just fine since earlier this morning about 6 hours ago. They both started the day with 1524.0 and then updated to 1530.0, but experienced no problems with Edge (I don’t use or install Chrome at all if I can avoid it).
I read Gunter’s post when both still had 1524 for their definitions, and that’s when I tried Edge but it launched and browsed just fine, no errors of any kind on both machines.
BTW, that’s with build number 19044.1889 Pro x64.
