Windows 8.1 boot this morning

Toshiba laptop, Windows 8.1, all updates. When I booted 8.1 up this morning, I got this totally different desktop, it wasn’t the MS default or anything close. I played with it and rebooted and finally saw that I had logged out last night, so when I logged in I got my desktop. The question is, Who’s desktop was booting up and where did it come from? I ran Malwarebytes Pro and didn’t come up with anything. Karpersky runs every morning and didn’t show any problems. The computer seems to be working OK, no slowdowns. Any thoughts on this?

You need to know the account that logged in when you first booted the PC.

That is the strange part, there is no other account on this computer.

Is the guest account active?

When your user profile has difficulty loading, Windows will sometimes boot to a “temporary” profile. Sometimes it fixes itself when you reboot, sometimes you have to do a repair to the profile to fix it.
